Research interests
Dr. Bhattacharjee has spent years gaining research and teaching experience in synthetic inorganic and organometallic chemistry. Building on this foundation, he’s focused on developing robust, field-deployable and inexpensive biosensors. Achieving this goal involves careful optimization across several layers: developing novel nanostructured metal surfaces that generate plasmons optimizing conditions for dense self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) of thiols and carbenes selecting the appropriate biorecognition element (BRE) for detecting the target pathogen choosing the right detection technique such as electrochemistry, surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS), fluorescence microscopy or colorimetry | Organometallic chemistry; Inorganic chemistry; Biosensing; Nanoparticles; Electrochemistry; Raman spectroscopy
