Marianne Copithorne

Marianne believes that emotional authenticity comes from truth. Once the mental homework is done by integrating the fundamentals of acting, interpreting the playwright’s truth should come from the ‘heart’, not the ‘head’. She believes in teaching students to build a character by pursuing objectives and tactics, and learning to listen and respond to their fellow actors. She believes that that success in production comes from collaborating as a collective ensemble, and treating the director, cast, designers, stage management, and technical crew, with equal respect.
